Key 2025 Legislative Actions & Decisions
While most routine votes were unanimous, several major policy directions were established in 2025:
Tax Measures: In July 2025, the Council decided not to place a sales or lodging tax increase on the ballot after reviewing survey results showing community opposition.
Housing & Grants: In January 2025, the Council committed loan funds from 5A housing funds for a low-income housing tax credit application. Later in the year, they approved Resolution 25-33 for a Strong Communities grant amendment related to 602 Galena Street.
Infrastructure & Environment: The council approved loan applications for PFAS water contaminant removal and discussed Xcel Energy's thermal energy network pilot.
2026 Legislative Policy: In December 2025, the Council adopted Resolution 25-35, setting the town's legislative policy statement for the following year.
